Margarita Matsa was born in a family where music as well as conversations about artists and songs were the center of attention.
Her grand father was Minos Matsas, her father Makis Matsas and her brother Minos Matsas Junior.
Her family was in the music and record business in Greece since 1925.
She graduated Pierce College (high school) in 1983 and studied Law at the Law School of Athens
In 1987 she graduated with. Bachelor degree and left for London to continue her postgraduate studies (LLM) in Intellectual Property Issues at the London School of Economics.
After graduating from the London School, she continued her studies at the City University of London to obtain a Master of Business Administration, specializing in Marketing. in 1991, in parallel to her studies, she graduates from the Institute of Graphology in London; she then receives her license to practice law in Athens.
After the end of her studies, she decides to stay in London, which had fascinated her. He got a job at the record company MCA International as a Marketing Coordinator for Europe.
Every year and for two consecutive years, she meets with her father every January in Cannesr at the famous discography exhibition "MIDEM" as “competitors"; Margarita at the MCA stand and of course her father at the stand of "Minos Matsa and Son" who was then collaborating with RCA International.
Two years later, at the pressure of her family, she decides to return to Athens to work in the Legal Department of the family record company, which almost the same year, takes its current form and name "MINOS - EMI” after its partnership with EMI.
In 1993 she marries George Frangogiannis and has two children, Thanos and Irma.
In 2004, EMI Europe offers Margarita Matsa the position of CEO of the company, which she accepts despite the reservations expressed by her father, trying to make her aware of the enormous responsibilities and difficulties of this job. However she does accept and in just 4 years under her leadership, MINOS-EMI is awarded as the most profitable in Europe (pro rata of the population and turnover ratios)
To this day, she remains the Managing Director, keeping the company at first position in the market, despite the crisis and the difficulties faced by the Greek Discography sector, thus continuing the successful tradition of her family.
